They compared the world to a universal village, with the wide circulation of the satellite channels, internet networks, and Microsoft ships. I think they broadened our understanding of this concept, because the world we are discovering now and traveling through with a touch of our fingers from our places, is nothing but a large house that embraces all nationalities, allowing all its members to compete against each other to reach sublimity, to excel in the creation of new ideas, and to benefit from the usage of new scientific and technological sources with which we should be build the oncoming future.
" AL-AFKAR" Magazine, which I have the honor of being its chairman and editor-in-chief, is a reflection of the world or the future house we aspire to build. It is keen on preserving its heritage which reinforces its identify and provides it with a status of its own. "AL-AFKAR" is directly connected to tomorrow's world which will be the by-product of new sets of ideas encompassing human imagination.
"AL-AFKAR" is qualified for being a prospective magazine which tries to discover the coming unknown and to search the horizons of tomorrow's world at the eve of the third millennium, moreover, it aims at drawing a picture of : tomorrow's administration, tomorrow's school, tomorrow's media means and advertising methods, necessity to support human rights in all fields, to catch up the globalization train, to circumscribe ideal areas for investment, and to select the optimal role for the 2000 woman so that she would become man's companion in every advance towards progress.
"AL-AFKAR" Magazine originates from the Lebanese soil which gave birth to: Gebran Khalil Gebran, the famous immigrant poet Elias Abou-Madi, the medical genius Dr. Michael Debakey, the creative mind Hassan Kamel El-Sabah and Michael Nueimy, eminent Imam Abdel-Rahman Ozai who protected the Christians from oppression. Needless to remind everyone that Lebanon offered to the universal throne in 1971, the beautiful Georgina Rizk, and was one of the main founders of the human rights charter in the United Nations in the early fifties.
"AL-AFKAR" Magazine is proud to be the daughter of this universal home weaved of internet sites and to appear on it, on a weekly basis, starting from current December 6th 1999.
"AL-AFKAR"'s heart is open to all her Arab readers all over the world and her wish is to be in direct connection with them wherever they are so that it will become their warm shelter, constantly awaiting their innovative ideas and letters... the world is nothing but a large... home!!!
